Just got my 2gb set of G.Skill DDR2 for the MacBook Pro... Gonna do a small review/write-up on it as soon as the lappy comes in and I get it installed.

Looks like some quality sticks of RAM. Cheaper than the "recommended" Transcend Jet-RAM.

Here's a few pix to hold u over until I get the review done up.

It appears that you bought 2 1GB sticks and I presume the Macbook is going to run them in dual channel. I thought I had heard in the past that you're better off buying them in the matched kits?

I ask because I'm looking to buy the exact same specification RAM that Frag just bought for my new Inspiron E1705 :D . I wanted to get this set from Newegg, but they're Out of Stock with no ETA:

Originially they had an ETA of 7/24 which has come and gone with no sign of

getting them in stock. So I found these on sale on Mushkin's site:

(probably the same ones just not dual channel kit), and was thinking I'd get 2 and run them dual channel if possible. Since it's a locked Dell Bios I won't be doing any overclocking etc. so they'll be running at default timings.

Also I read an article yesterday about there not being much advantage of dual channel over single using DDR2. I thought it was at The Register but I'm unable to find the link atm.

Nope doesn't matter mate... As long as both sticks are the same speed with the same timings it doesnt make a lick of difference. Usually u just get a bit better price when bought in a dual channel kit.
