Between the Fx4350 and the fx6350 what would be better value Iv look on a few website price wise and there only £6 between the 2 cpus, cant really find much performance wise hence why I'm asking on here

Gaming only apart from the user does encode to AAc using itunes and her old dell laptop is slow is hell for this task

she going matx so was going to pair it with GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 AMD 760G v4 and a 7850 since there on sale.

the 6350 is the best choice for you. My friend has one running on stock clocks with a 660 and it is surprisingly good. That motherboard will need a good few bios updates to run the processor and isn't the best board for it as it is really quite old (doesn't list even bulldozer support on the manufacturer's website). Go for a different board instead otherwise the cpu will not be able to perform to its max potential.

This.

But if you really can't then 6300/6350. I honestly don't even know what the difference is between the two.

6350 is a higher clocked 6300, basically a decent 6300 that has done well in the silicon lottery. The same goes for any xx50 bar the 8350 (the 8320 is an inferior 8350 basically and needs a -slight- voltage increase to get the stock 8350 clocks, hence the lower price and the lower achievable clocks).

Also, I'd go for the 6350/6300 over the i5 if money is an issue, it is an underrated chip and for the money (aria usually sells the 6300 at £80) it can't be beaten.

i agree the hex-core piledriver chips give excellent value for money. the power they have compared to an i3 is excellent, they can also overclock unlike i3's

It is also more future proof than a i3 thanks to the improvements in using more cores -hopefully- brought about by the new wave of consoles.

I agree the 6350 is the way to go. They're very good overclockers and when paired with a stout video card, you will have a very powerful gaming rig.

No need to worry about an i5 unless you're gonna be running a much more powerful card than a 7850. AK overclocked 6350 is plenty capable of feeding that card to its fullest potential. No point I'm spending an extra $100 for an i5 for no perceivable difference in performance. If you were running a GTX780 at 2560x1600 then yeah, but not here.

as for the i5 suggestion this person is on a budget and not a huge gamer I did see a nice deal on a another site where you get an Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 and the fx 6300 plus next day delivery for under £160 I have some psare 1600mhz ram I can throw her way meaning what ever money she saves u could possibly go upto a amd 7870

a 6300 and a 7870 are a really good balance, however if they aren't a huge gamer, I'd stick with the 7850.
