Future-proof Allroad machine.

Well guys and girlies, I need some help with my new allroad build (which means its for gaming and video/image editing at the same time.)

Be aware that I can spend 3000€ max. Not negotiable.

Let me introduce into the build and its purpose.

First of all, this is gonna be my very first high-end build, I never spent more than 1500€ in a pc, and now Im duplicating that ammount. Its a FULL build including the peripherals except of the keyboard and mouse, so lets get started.

--Internals/PC itself:

-i7 5930K. The only reason why I pick this and not the 5820K are the 40 PCIe lines. (SLI incomming) The 5960X its too expensive for me right now.

-ASUS X99-DELUXE. Quite good mobo, with all you will ever need from it. I took a look to MSI Xpower AC, with same price, but I think that MSI mobo is oriented into extreme Oc, which im not gonna do. Any tip?

-Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 2666. I found them cheap enough to consider this my first option. Second one are Kingston Hyper X 16GB 2666. 65 bucks cheaper than Corsair ram's...

-Cooler Master V850. Good quality PSU with a nice price tag. Also considering the EVGA Supernova 850 G2. Sorry about all corsair psu fans but, I consider everything corsair do, from keyboards to cases, are expensive as shit. Just my opinion. I have some corsair items :(

-x2 EVGA GTX970 FTW. I put 2 970's instead of a single 980 because It's only 100€ more expensive and way better in performance. Simple as that.

And here is where things are complicated for me. As Im doing a SLI config I was wondering about upgrading from 1080p to 1440p (2k) BUT the only monitor I consider apropiate right now in 2k is the expensive as fuck ASUS PG278Q RoG Swift 1ms GtG blablabla (800€) AND I wanna play any graphic's pushing game out there as Star Citizen or Crysis 3 and all that kind of stuff with enough FPS room to be unworried for years. Maybe you are thinking right now: Go with x2 GTX 980's and buy that 2k monitor... but that's 2000€ or even more and I can not spend that much only in few parts of the PC considering I must buy a full build.
So please, help me with this . Can x2 970's deal with 2k gaming or I need more power? (I guess its ok for 2k but IDK)

-Samsung 256GB 850 PRO. Good quality SSD. Also taking a look at Intel 730 series, I know its slower but 5 year warranty looks very good, and I think there's not much difference in daily use between this two SSd's. What do you think?

-Western Digital Black 2TB. Well rounded HHD for storage.

That's pretty much it for internal's.

--Peripherals:

-ASUS VG248QE. I think its one of the best 1080p screens out there with a ok price/quality ratio and a high refresh and smooth gaming experience. (Read above about G.cards and monitors)

-Turtle Beach Ear Force Z22. Nice quality and price. Noty gonna spend 250€ in Astro A40 sorry :p

-Cooler Master Cosmos II. I dont care about WC options. Can't efford a custom loop :(
Just really like the look of this case, but its a bit expensive so Ill keep an eye on other cases.

So finally, what do you think? Do I must change anything?

Please dont be shy and help me with this headache

Thank you in advance.;)

It all sounds ok I personally wouldn't touch the EVGA's I'd go Asus or MSI for the 970's, the Samsung SSD's are great running them myself and if you can afford it I believe the ROG Swift is a great monitor will be buying one myself next week

Thank you for fast response.

In order with what you told me, Im gonna make few changes. Tell me guys what you think.

I overwhelmed my budget in few hundreds so Im gonna take a look to cheaper 1440 screen.
What do you think about BenQ BL2710PT? It looks good for games and its 4ms GtG, not best refresh but not bad at all and ofc its 300€ cheaper than the asus RoG monitor.

Other major change are the G.Cards. I was not really convinced with the EVGA 970's mostly because the missing backplate. I already own an 580 from asus and Im quite happy with temps, little bit noisy but temps are more important, so at the same price tag, Ill switch to Asus OR Gigabyte 970's.

The last change are the ram's. Ill go with the Kingston HiperX 2666

Please comment anything you want. Every tip will be thanked :D

If I finally go for 1080p Ill go with the ASUS VG248QE. But where I really have problems is choosing the 1440p monitor, that's why I suggested the BenQ BL2710PT 27" IPS 1440p Edit: Or the ASUS PB278QR instead the Asus RoG monitor.

Regards

Hey dude,

With the case your looking at have you had a look at the Phanteks Enthoo Primo Ultimate might be a different choice over the CM

Yep I took a look at all phanteks cases for a while, and to be honest I dont like how they look. I know they have really good quality but I cant deal with the asthetics. and like I said, dont really bother me the WC options cause' I cant effort a custom loop :(

BTW thank you ;)

Like I said, I dont like Corsair stuff, less cases. I own one:mad:
I'll probably buy a cheaper case than the cosmos 2, I just said I really like the case but its expensive.
H630 is right now the main option in my list. (Dont care about window panel)
Maybe a big brother of the S340 if it's released soon...Finger's crossed :)

Well, I took some decisions about the PC.

Basically Ill go with the Asus 970 SLI and decided to upgrade into 1440p (2k) but still need help picking the monitor.
It's way more difficult for me to choose a 1440p monitor than a 1080p just because I dont want to mess up with my decission.

My choices are:
1-ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q 700€. Should I save my money for this? Is it really worth?

2-ASUS PB278QR 490€. R new version. Reviews said its not bad:confused:

3-BenQ BL2710PT 490€. Everything I know its that its good for CAD fut... for gaming? 4ms refresh its actually ok...

So if you can help me with this Ill be very grateful guys.
