Furmark

Just wondering what you guys would recommend when it comes to running Furmark. I tend to run it for around 8 hours (as I sleep) afterwards check the temps and stare at the screen for 5 minutes to check for artifacts. Do you guys think I should go longer or is this overkill? AA is turn onto 4x, max res and post FX, displacement mapping and xtreme burn enabled.

I still don't understand the need to run Furmark, I just don't.

If you want to check stability then ten minutes with it will do. Your temps will be at maximum in and around that time and the best way to test it long term is just to game with it. Furmark does not test the memory or RAMDAC only the GPU itself. Artefacts are usually caused by a faulty card (if you see them it's usually to late) or bad memory. Bad memory will show up when in use, not in Furmark.

Plus of course Furmark is synthetic. Meaning it will not reproduce real world results. I used it recently in order to try and kill a graphics card and kill it I did.

just fold on it for a like 2 WU's then its stable and you will see some heat output on it.

or game on something intensice like BFBC2 or crysis for like 1 hour
