I had a Dell D600 before, and loved the functionality from its graphic driver which allowed full screen mode on the 2nd display only, so while I can watch videos on TV, I can check my email and surf the web at the same time. Today I had to switch to a Compaq, and the Intel graphic controller doesn't seem to allow that. Is there any way I can get that functionality back on this Compaq?

At the desk top;
Right click to get to the display properties.
Select settings
Click on the 2nd display and adjust the resolution
Tick the box for "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"
Apply the settings.
That should allow you to use 2 screens as long a your TV feed is windowed you should be able to watch'n surf.

OEM drivers hamper this sometimes. Actual card manufacturer drivers tend to solve it.
