I get so frustrated when newbies just come on board and the have major builds.... if have been around for almost 2 years and still don't have enough even for a i3 build. stuck with a office pc that play bf 3 at 800x640..

*FRUSTRATED* but happy for the girls and guys with the amazing pc. At least it give me satisfaction as a member of the community.

A lot of people will sign up for the bragging rights, to show off a rig they are proud of. Nothing wrong with that =]

True enthusiasts stick around. Doesn't matter what you got :)

i still haven't showed off my build even though i'm kinda done with it for now, but i never feel like it's worth showing.

True enthusiasts also want to learn, like me. This whole community is a guide to success. Mistakes happen to learn from, I'm no exception.

Yeah, i need to get around to showing off my build.

There is always something i need to fix first. There is one bit i need to cut off and i'd like to paint the Champagne coloured strips on my RV03.

My build collect dust easily no cable management and cpu cooler screams at night while playing battlefield and you say yours ain't worthed.
I don't care how old my pc is im proud of it and at least I can browse the best pc site in the world :cool:OC3D:cool:

i don't have custom sleeved cables yet, i don't like my case, waterloop delayed till kingdom come (not even sure if i want one anymore, matx with an AIO is so much neater). There is always something.

I don't personally like showing off my rig as its nothing special. If people do stupidly high end builds, of course they will show off, its an epeen thing. However, the good ship OC3D has some real artists amongst the ranks and I personally love looking at other people's builds.

Your frustrated? I'm frustrated! I put all of my available money (and a little bit more) into my rig, worked through everything and got it all just how I wanted, learned a bunch of new stuff and took it to another level. Took some sexy pictures, posted them on the forums, got a couple shares on facebook... now I don't know what the hell to do...

I see your angle but the whole fresh major build thing isn't all that, the initial build and the refinements and the learning process are the best part and to an extent the lusting after new parts although frustrating isn't the worst.

True that! I'm proud of my machine it took almost a year of saving and bit by bit putting it together, it was more through necessity it got done than anything else but I have a system similar to yours (Innocent159) it's what my current rig replaced but she's still a reliable little rocket when needed :)

You'll get there my friend. I prefer to have what I need rather than want something I don't :).

That's what I'm doing here but would like to show off a decent build. Not really expensive just maybe a colour scheme or at least cable management for a clean look.

Thank you for your motivation and that would make a nice sig quote "To have what you need rather than want something you don't"

LooL yes I understand your point but at least you can switch on and play bf 3 of cod in high resolution or HD and that's all I want out of my system. The less expensive the better. Think of a gpu upgrade to make it possible and cpu cooler for over-clocking. And i'll be happy

lmao, you're not the only one. i have an old rig, with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300, see how i feel haha!

the only decent component in my rig is my gtx 670 lol

Save money, acquire nice things.
I know it's frustrating not having much money, especially when you have bills n shit to pay. But surely in 2 years you can save enough money to buy a better PC? At least a motherboard, CPU and GPU anyway.

I find it frustrating when people say they have had such and such rig for X amount of years and find it very strange that in all that time they are unable to save money to upgrade at least some of it :\

plenty of people are rather keen towards older hardware, i know i am.

i only have an i3/7770 which is rather low hardware but does me just fine.

my friend just picked up an Intel core 2(quad) cpu which when i opened was amazed to find that the CPU heat sink was "passive" and had a rather large plastic shell that directed air from the back intake to the CPU.

was nice to see as it was an all copper smexy thing :P

and as Tom says it more about how you make it look than what you have, seen plenty of people with 1000's worth of hardware and it looks a mess and worthless.

The way I see it, it's the effort you put in to make it tidy and/or make it unique/ your own makes it deserving of respect or praise, not the price or the specs of the system.

Feel with you bro. Been on this forum for just a shortwhile, but have been researching, learning for more then 2 years by now, going through forums, browsing the internet, watching youtube (TTL) and so much more. Still haven't build anything and doing everything I do on my laptop. Do hope to start my own build by the end of this year perhaps. Keep calm you'll get there soon and it will be worth it more than the people who brag just for bragging :)

I had to put up with a P4 and HD5450 for 6 years then i won an awesome rig. Mostly it seems to be people who are in their early 30s who can afford the awesome overkill rigs so be patient. Its not how much you have either its how you use it, i did loads of really intensive 3D work on my old P4 machine that is even a heavy load for an i7.
