From Desktop to Laptop

Hi guys, just wanted your opinion on a straight swap that I may be doing due to me going on a 6 month training course and I will be away from home monday to Friday and I urgently need a laptop - Im particually intrested in how the 670mx performs if anybody has used one and also the ram layout seems a bit strange 4+2gb ?

Currently own -

3770k + hd7950 + z77a-gd65 + 8gb ram + corsair hx750w + Haf-xm atx case

Swapping for -

Medion Erazer Laptop (specs are in french but you shuold get the idea)

Personally, if you're spending the kind of money you will be to get a 670mx, I'd be wanting a 1920x1080 screen to make it more worthwhile. At that 1366x768 res, it should easily max games out, but it won't really be the same.

You should look at the MSI gaming series instead I think. I feel they're better equiped really as an all round laptop with a higher res screen, better battery, nicer keyboard, better speakers, and better LAN and wifi too - although it depends on price of course.

Im not spending any money actually.. Its a mate of mine who is willing to do a straight swap for my desktop.. I will be keeping my 1080p monitor so whilst at home during the wknd then I can connect to that but when away in the week I will just be using the 1366x768 built in screen..
 
I personally wouldn't swap that at all.

Second hand laptop value is very low, whilst desktop parts retain their value well these days.
I'd say it was a very bad deal for you really.
 
Thats what i thought but unfortunately it is the only way I can finance a half decent laptop... Thanks for confirming though James...
