Like title says my friend is getting a new pc, and he asked me for help so i put him together what I personally would see as a kick ass machine. But he wants it to play crysis at high with no lag at 1280x1024, and Bio Shock ( Never heard of it :( ) His budget is $1500 if you guys have any ideas, he already has a Lian Li so that isnt included I will post link to it. I am not sure of his tech skill, so I am trying to keep things simple.

Quite a solid lineup. Its almost identical to the config I'm looking at getting at the end of this year.

As for how well it plays Crysis, that's anyone's guess. Judging by benches of the few DX10 games out there, I doubt the GTS will play Crysis over 30fps. The GTX isn't much better tbh. Unfortunately, short of waiting for the 9800's to come out later this year, there's not much you can do about that.

But all of the videos we have seen of crysis are shot using current hardware, some are even in DX9..

Solid setup how ever in my opinion get the XFX 8800GTS 'XXX' its slightly faster than the EVGA one for the same'ish price in the UK atleast. Vista home premium would do well enough if you wanted to save abit of cash to spend else where.

Does he need an aftermarket cooler if you are trying to keep it simple? You could use the money saved and get an 8800GTX or a Q6600.. :)
