Hello All

I am totally new to the TV card world but fancy one and my dad says he will buy me one as the freeview box i got for my birthday is now down stairs

Any recommendations would be helpful as i dont have a clue about the advantages and disadvantages of one from another.

Thanks, Sam

i cant recommend a nebula tv card enough. ive had mine for about 10 months now.

Quality = 10/10

Software = 10/10

and there are still making improvements to there software. It works with topup tv too (although you have to buy a adapter to plug the card in)

it also looks like there going to be making the software HDTV complient when they start the trials this year,

As I have read the bext card is the ATi TV Wonder Elite which I have, I haven't used it since I got it but its the best one out right now. I also have a Hauppauge PVR-500MCE which is outstanding with dual tuners.

I'm stuck with a Pinnacle analogue capture card. What are the chances of Sky ever allowing anyone to produce a compatible capture card?

I can record sky on my Hauppage card :)

Yes, but that's still analogue. Don't DVB cards record the direct digital stream? only way to get Sky is to decode and re-encode.

o and at the time i brought my nebula, it was the only card that just ripped the ts stream. resulting in better quality.

I am quite happy with my Compro DVB-T300. It has analog and digital input, cable for power on. The Windows driver/software are updated regularly.

Works like a charm in my Linux Mythtv box.
