Christmas is but a distant memory and the cases are starting to hit us hard and fast. First up for the new year is a compact ITX case from Fractal in the shape of the Define Nano S

Fractal Define Nano S ITX Case Review

It's a nice little case but it just looks a little dated inside to me. I think it should be mandatory that cases come with PSU shrouds these days, given how much better they can make a PC look inside.

Thanks for the review.

I don't know about having the shrouds mandatory but I feel that maybe they could do them as an option or like Corsair do with the 700D parts have them as a purchasable extra. In failing that just make them, it's not rocket surgery.

Neither is it Brain Science lol

Well Fractals new way of looking at an itx case has already been done with the Phanteks Evolv-iTX. Plus it has a psu shroud.

It's cute - if I had a Define S I'd buy this and turn it into a mini fridge.

It's still a good case. There will always be better (and many more) worse cases so I think the Silver borderline Gold award is pretty spot on. Just a shame it missed those few mm I wonder if it was a conscious choice or they just didn't think?

They probably tried keeping it from being to big and risk being labeled as a M-ATX case. Wrong move by them. They have the Node 202 for ultra small ITX. They should have left that case to the size conscious people and slightly increased this Nano's size for being considered one of the best ITX cases currently out

You could be right. Hopefully there's a revised version down the track.

I guess that no matter what they do there will be compromises made somewhere and as a rule we do like to whinge about things.
IT's too loud (air flow case)
It's too hot (silent case)
Too big! Full tower with Matx board and single air cooled gpu.
Too cramped! Mid Tower with full loop and fifteen drives.

It's a bit like the Berenstein bears or Doctor Seuss. It's good to have options and for the non impact users it's still awesome. Depending on the connections of course but I imagine most of these will end up with decent AIO's and an air cooled card or maybe a Fury X style hybrid.
