who has one and which do you have. I will not venture to make a write-up about projectors. at least not yet but anyone who wants to feel free to do so as there is alot to be known. i just preordered my xbox which means that now i must commit to an hdtv and that will be a projector because im not gaming in SDTV and im not getting a regular(rip-off small) hdtv. 120" here i come!

Ill do one if enough people are interested. I own one and know what to look for. Pls post below those that are interested.

Do a forum search for projector... I have a pretty nice ViewSonic that I posted about a while back but I can't think of the model number off the top of my head. It's quite nice.

god when i see 1.6 i wanna cry.... thats nice... projectors are nice... mine will be much better though as im going for a true widescreen ... viewsonics have nothing that does what i want... i want to play on a 16:9 chip and not a 4:3... but any projector is awesome... i would do the write-up but since im gonna be working hell OT till i hit my unknown goal or till christmas I don't have too much time.... I will definitely post a post-purchase writeup with pictures of my room converted into a gaming heaven. i am sorta stuck on the sanyo plv-z3(plv-z4 if i get teh dough) and the panasonic ae700u(ae900u if i get the dough)... with those projectors they have consistently followed a linux like steady release and upgrade each year so the higher models are simply the lower ones with better scaling(i hope) and better contrast ratios.. something like 7000:1 versus 2000:1... a great change... but i doubt the real world is that much... i just pray that i can get the dynamics in lighting that i enjoy on my dell 2005fpw... i like to have the game just bright enough that i can still see my cursor in dust.. the only map that gives me issues if my gamma and such are too high... bla bla ramble ramble... my next question is how do i go wireless... i saw a thread where __TRONIK__ says he has his HTPC wirelessly sending the video signal.. please how do i do that as that will solve my current problem 1 of 2... the other is chucking my two 220cfm 120mm DELTA fans(too damn LOOOUD) for some stealths as the overclock is both not helped enough to justify them(if at all).... and i need to go as wireless as possible... as my pc is int eh left corner of my room and my tv/stereo/ghettertainment center is in the right... with my pc chilling on my line6 spider212 so that the AC hits it just right... oh god...!! i just realized a bigger flaw... the place i plan to put my screen blocks my A/C Unit... hmmm perhaps i can use my other wall... that might work out better... just gotta see the distance to see what sort of picture i can still get... and i will have to create a new shelf to mount it that way... and i will probably definitely need at least a 2.0x zoom which means that a plvz3 may be out of the picture... but a plv-z4 is not... and neither is both of the panasonics as they sport 2.0 zoom... im shooting for 120" or bigger... or just something to brag about... and i will be making or buying a screen because projection on a wall... is weak, ugly, and not practical on my black semi-gloss walls... but yea./..... im gonna treat myself to stealth fans for my water.... an xbox 360, HD projector and screen... and a real 5.1 or 7.1 surround system(as opposed to my 60$ durabrand(yes thats walmarts inhouse brand.. woot 2AM shopping sprees)) and i plan to get a 1000-1500$ hdtv for my folks too if i can work in the OT to get to that too... im looking at an expensive christmas... but my household needs to "technologize responsibly" ::echoes::intechxication:: haha i typed all this in a quick reply?!

Looked up those projectors ur looking at and yeah, those bitches are nice :) Mine is about 2 years old and I hooked it up for shits and giggles one night as I really don't have a good place to set one up permanently. If I rearranged my entire room I could probably make it work as I'm getting ready to get rid of the gigantic headboard behind my bed.

GL with ur projector conversion :)

yea they are nice... you know what i learned today... almost no tv on the market is truely 1080.. .meaning they dont hae the resolution of 1920x1080... i knew that this was the case for projectors... but i had to let xavier down that his 3500 dlp tv he planned to get was not 1080... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...t&productCategoryId=cat03006&id=1110265593170 now i knew that the most popular projector resolution, for 16:9 HD, was 1280x720... a resolution that just busted into the under 2k market in the recent years... but now i know that even TVs are the same way... not real 1080... i know that 1080 looks stunning still on 720 but i just find it a little bothersome to see the 1080i and 1080p advertised so much when i only see it in units aroun 10k... like these http://www.projectorcentral.com/par..._3=2595&pid_4=2763&pid_5=2773&exp=1&x=53&y=14

i guess its just that true 1080 costs as much as a honda... thats a crime IMHO... but ya... and the PM limit needs to be pulled... i tried PMing tronik and i cant because he has 4 posts... is there a way to allow me to PM him and him reply... while you maintain the 50+ limit

well for the record i think i can only squeeze 100" exactly out of a setup if i shoot ot on the long wall.. because i only have 10 feet from wall to wall that way as opposed to 16 feet the other way... so yes i need ot find a new spot for my PC... and a way to run it all together... i fear issues with my PC as I have DVI and DVI sucks after 6 feet of cable or so i hear... i think i need to pawn my CRT TV and stereo and trash the ghettertainment center.... move my pc desk into the closet where my bed is... and move my bed(which is really just a mattress... under the window where i plan to put my projector... but then i risk pneumonia in my sleep and still an issu with my AC.... but i have 10 foot ceilings.. which is what the tape measurer says although i could swear i had 11... ah well... i might be ablt to mount the screen from teh ledge... and keep it above my ac still... move the bed to the side of the room... ot the corner where the tv is now... and also that may be necessary anyway as i dont want my head in the way of the projections.... god this better work out somehow... also imma have to spend ALOT of money on suitable connections for all this malarchy... damn MONSTER and their high prices.... any idea about the wireless feed of the video tronik mentioned... i see alot of stat pages list that the projectors dont have networking capabilities... so im assuming that perhaps some do... and his is one of those... if so.. bugger all i was hoping thats not the case... although doing some/all/any of this wirelessly may be a bad thing

Rofl, xavier from ocn? He's mah homie, he used ti live nearby but he recently moved down to florida :( no more local overclockers that I know of other than tronik but I've never met him before. Suppose I should so I can see some of the awesome comps he's built.

Lemme know what u decide for a projector as I may look at doing the same thing as u.

will do.. and yea... xavier moved.... he just got settled this week basically and has been online a little... but i have been trying to get him to got the projector router especially since he was planning on buying that TV.. which is 3500 at bestbuy.com... he says he can get it for 2400... i projector costs between 1500-2000 depending on if i get the latest models or last years... I also need to get a screen... i only need +1 gain so thats not too horrible... i just need one that rolls down manually... i dont want electric as that is not only overkill, overpriced, and not needed... but they look funny... and im posting this on my laptop... finally got my new power adapter so i will be posting when im at work so woot woot

Where do his parents live again? *plans midnight black ops projector theft mission* ;)

haha dude i cant even remember where mike lives... i think his parents live where he moved or where he was... he's in florida now right? and he was in PA? im really bad at it.. yea i didnt talk to him for nearly 3 or 4 months... but he just closed on the house friday or friday before that and has been moving stuff in,... and he has the essentials unpacked... toothbrush and pc... hehe... oh yea and soap... but yea im not finding wireless projectors that are good... so now i pray that HDMI has a decent limit as DVI-HDMA converters are in existence... looking for review... if oyu know one tell me

He used to live in N. VA and yeah he's in FL now. HDMI is the new wave, I'd like to pick up a new TV that supports HDMI. I do feel a 60" plasma coming in the near future which should support it :D

hdmi goes 40 feet without problems... so that problem is solved.. now i just gotta find out why the hell monster charges so much for all their shit... we need to get a team of cs:s players who play in 100" HD!!! we should be pretty good.. i mean im already decent... and i imagine the game will be easy when we can master the lifesize or larger than life characters... i imagine picking off a guy as he peeks around a corner will be devilishly easy.... haha he said arsey
