Forza Horizon 5 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

Impressive benchmarking. Definite competition for Steve from Hardware Unboxed. :)

I got to admit I didn't read much of the text (just looked at the benchmarks), but this typo caught my eye: "moving from extreme settings too high settings" on page 9.

I think i'd enjoy the game but i have a lot left to do in FH4 and tbh FH5 might as well just be a reskin of FH4 it's so similar it's just in a diifferent place tbh, but the lego content and general fun of the game is good just for me doesn't seem worth getting FH5 maybe by FH10 they might have changed it enough to warrant the buy.

Every review has said its FH4 and much much more.

I don't really see the point in sticking to FH4, though I'm somewhat biased since I'm sick of so many events in the old game. Mexican roads seem to have a lot of sweeping medium-high speed corners, which I really love.

And yeah it's an absolutely gargantuan game, of course there's a lot of rehashed models, mechanics and so forth - and I'm not a fan of the 60€ asking price for base edition. But game pass is a cracking deal.

This is the first Horizon game I haven't bought as soon as possible. There's loads of content, but most of it is starting to get aimed at a different target audience to me. The focus on online gameplay, the larger than life, OTT approach to everything, handing out so many cars for free with no sense of working up through the ranks.

It's the only open world racing series in town with decent physics, so I'll likely get it eventually, but I'd really like Solar Crown to come along and do a more grounded and progressive take on it, kinda like Horizon 1 was. I'f they gave me Horizon 1 updated with the new modification system, and map tech I'd be all over it like a rash.

I'm also looking forward to Solar Crown, don't get me wrong i like most racing games but they need to offer something new and refreshing and when it just seems like a slight yearly upgrade i'm less enthusiastic about it.

Sunk quite a few more hours to this, there's a few subtle improvements which make it much more enjoyable personally.

Improved wheel support and object persistence - so in online races, fences etc. won't pop back in, but stay broken even for following laps. Finally we have the technlology :D

If anyone else is actively playing, PM for gamertag.
