So guys, got me a q8200 to play with, and have about £120 for a decent water cooling kit. Any suggestions on prices/parts/places?

Cheers ;D

or if you can this would be very good http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...38&name=OcUK H²OC Extreme Watercooling Bundle

This is the lazy way if you want better results go to wcuk and order something like this

1xtfc xchanger rad double (you may bea ble to use a single depend on your overclock and wether you want to add GPU or northbridge etc.)

Suitable amount of 12cm fans for rad, xilence fans are pretty good

1x d-tek fusion V2 or EK Supreme

1xLaing DDC 1T idealy the ultra especial when useing the supreme block

1xfesser cooling fluid

1x resevoir (optional you can feed the fluid straight into the loop with fillport or simlar

Use whatever size hose takes your fancy makes no difference

yes but it is, not being rude crappy kit...he should go custom

so the delta v3 block is crappy?maybe you should read some more reviews mate:D

I used this kit on my quad and it kept that under control

the kit is not as good as custom just look at the pump my friend not trying to be clever c#nt, this is one of my most recent wc builds.

I am most certainly not a complete master but im far from noob and know whilst the V3 block is certainly very good its only as good as the cooling equipment around it ;)

Tinytimlogan is a very expereinced builder from what I have seen so far he might be you best bet if you wish not to undertake yourself the V3 kit, in my opinion you will do better with custom for your money

Wow

Thanks guys, your advice has been well taken in, and swale, what the hell do you do for a living that pc is a beast :p

I think ill drop tiny a pm and get a custom kit sorted out, as i will maybe have to make a custom mount for a double rad as my case doesnt have the mounts as standard for a double. Im using a EZ cool black case, very cheap £36 to be exact, but its steel mesh all round, and once you take the handle things off, add a couple of custom fan grills and a set of steel castors, looks the **** ;D

Thanks guys ;D

Also, expect the logs of a crt to lan machine build to start around mid febuary ;D

Looks like a nice little setup mate, but I'd make a couple of changes to it myself. The Laing DDC pump that you've chosen will be fine for your CPU only loop, but keeping the stock top on the pump is a bad choice for two reasons. firstly the stock top has 3/8" barbs (you need 1/2" for your tubing) and the only way around this is with an 'alternative top' (check in the same section as the pump on WCUK website). As you're using a highly restrictive block like the EK Supreme you'll need decent flow and 'head' pressure, and an alternative pump top like the XSPC one will give the pump the extra ooomph that it needs.

Are you using the anti-kink coils for looks only? If you think that you'll need them for that XSPC tubing then you won't as it has thicker walls which allow for better handling of tight bends. As a result you won't need the coils unless it's purely for aesthetic purposes.

Thanks for the comments f0x.

Yep agree with PV5150 all ok, I'd also try and stretch for a slightly better pump setup I still would go with the ddc1t-ultra with EK top if I was you, I highly rate them.

The XSPC Rads are ok but would go for something along the lines of a thermochill pa120.2 or a Feser TFC Xchanger (TFC would be my first choice as they come with all bolts needed for mounting, makes for a more hassle free install) I know there slightly more expensive but they will perform better have much better build quality and allow quieter fans, but be aware they are thicker so measure up!!!!

Other than that your all set you will have a good setup for your CPU and the ability to add a GFX card or N/bridge Blocks:D

TFC rads need airflow to work, if you want silence then its a thermochill rad.

I swear by thermos and would never put anything else in my rigs.

If you pt the same size tfc and thermo with a low cfm fan then the thermo will win hands down.

imho TFC rads are over priced and over hyped.
