firewall or internet? or drivers? or something else?

hi all i just built my new computer and after installing os and drivers for some reason some programs cannot connect to the internet. or that the firewall is blocking it.

i have tryed this with the firewall off and still no luck.

i few being

norton

minecraft

i am connect to the internet as i can go on any site i want except hotmail.

i can also play games from my steam account.

also i tryed to install league of ledgends and it says the firewall is blocking it but even with the wall off it still says it.

any help on this would be very nice as it a new build would really like to try it out.

specs:

windows 7 home 64 bit

asus p8z68-v motherboard

intel i5 2500k CPU

geforce 560ti GFX card

i really can not figger this out

sounds like its your antivirus to me. try deactivating or uninstalling it

first of all: are you running more than one (personal-)firewall at once? for example windows firwall and the one built in norton's security suite or whatever you want to call it? looks like one of the products does not like hotmail. may also be blocked content by security settings or security suite/anti-virus.

if yes:

- uninstall third party security products

- try

- if no luck: disable windows firewall for all network-profiles

- if OK: decide which product you want to use

you also may accidentally classified your home network as "public". some services might not work then if not properly configured in your firewall(s).

Definately your AV, I have the same problem with Kasper Sky (LoL) except it still allows me to do things, just keeps warning me over anything and everything like an electronic grandmother
