i just got myself the sennheiser PC360's and i'm considering if i need a sound card so i have some questions, but before i should explain that i'm not an audiophile and so would like to spend as little as i can as for their use, i will use the headset as headphone for everything from gaming, music, movie etc.
so first question do i need a sound card? i know its better then any on board, but for example will it make a difference when watching TTL? or light gaming?
2. i have noticed that there is very little bass (which i was expecting with the open-back design) but would a built in headphone amp make a difference?
3. do the headphone need to be plugged in straight in the sound card? (i'm asking because i have 2.1 speakers, some older sony's, that have a control box or whatever its called that has a headphone jack, is it ok to use as a pass through?
oh also because of my mobo there are no pci slots, so the card has to be pci-e.
also i've looked at the xonar dx, but can't find any info if has a headphone amp? (actually don't even know if this headset needs it)
thank you guys in advance, sorry for the nooby questions, but when it comes to audio, i'm not ur guy, at all
