Far Cry Primal now has a 4K Texture pack and Survivor mode

Far Cry Primal has now been updated to bring a free 4K Texture pack and a Survivor mode to the game.

The Ultra HD texture pack is a little lacklustre to be honest, You'd have to take screenshots then pixel peep to notice the difference.

Also doesn't seem to impact frames that much if at all, Between turning the pack on/off and running the benchmark I rebooted the game just to make sure.

At 1440P max settings the memory usage is around 1GB higher with the pack on -

HD pack on - 4230MB

HD pack off - 3364MB

I imagine you wouldn't notice it on a large scale, as at a distance it will be rendering the lower res version anyway, otherwise you'd get bad flickering. Try comparing textures up close on props around the world. It's good that it doesn't affect FPS though 1GB higher is a fair increase for just textures.

Honestly the difference is minuscule even up close, Here's a side by side, On the left it's 1080P max settings with the texture pack off and on the right it's 4K max settings with the texture pack on -

Not when you spend most of your working day staring at this sort of stuff. Try zooming into something so it almost fills the screen or look directly down.

I can see the difference, especially in the close grass and the ground. Shame they do not improve the weapon textures, as some finer looking wood would have been nice.

I can tell the difference but to me it's not huge, It's more of a "Oh yeah, Is that it ?!?!?! I downloaded 3GB+ for slightly sharper edges ?!" ^_^
