Far Cry 2 Issue

I recently bought Far Cry 2 off the steam sale. It runs great and looks great aswell.

There is a huge problem though, after the start where you get malaria and faint then wake up with the jackal threating you, the part where you are killed by the troops and brought to a safe house with some mercenary wanting you to do some work for him.

He tells you to:

Pick up the health

Heal yourself

Save the game

and pick up the weapons.

I have did it all and the dumb idiot just stands there and looks at me now, I can't continue on with the game and I cant be bothered going through that long car journey again at the start

I think the problem may have occured when I healed myself without the health but breaking my arm into place, perhaps the game is waiting for me to heal myself that way. Which of course is now impossible because I can't damage myself....

Has anyone else encountered this issue ?

Because it is annoying me!

Its been a while since I played FC2, but if... i remember right, just go on outside and start killing things. I don't believe there's a real reason for the health use in storyline or mechanics, but I could be seriously wrong. If that isn't possible and you're stuck there looking at him, well, you will have to repeat the earlier part. Did you use console for health and such? hehe.

That was a very common bug with the game. They had fixed it with a patch but steam has patches and such built in. The only other solution i see for this would be to start a new game.

Restarted it today. Working now, thankfully

But now I cant getthe game to run in full screen now

good. an issue i had, after playing it, is the game wont boot. ubisoft customer support helped. i went to farcry2 folder in my documents/my games and deleted the gamerprofile file, i think. that was in Vista

There seems to be quite a few issues with this game sadly. Was readin that randomly the game can decide just to not let you progress any further. So save alot

hmmm it happend once with me were i found one of the mercs in some hut thing and i had to climbe stairs to get to him but then he wouldent talk and i couldent get back out

so i re started

I never have completed FC2, think I got to like 60% into it and just got bored and gave up..

i loooooved the game looked very good loved the open plan loved evry sec of it

did it twice to see both parts of the ending
