thanks for the sugesstion, but that program doesn't work for me

it doesn't change the fan speeds on both my laptop or my desktop

kinda shitty, (or maybe my hardware is shitty)

and no its not as asus, its an alienware m17x

anyone know a different program i can try?

You could try setting the fan speeds within the bios. Speedfan might work with a little tweaking (sometimes doesn't work without configuration).

Click 'Configure' to see the options which you could use to see if you can make the fans work. I changed a few settings in the 'Advanced' tab within the 'Configure' menu which made me able to control my cpu fan as I couldn't.

thanks for the advice, that worked on my desktop, but it doesn't work on the lappie because it doesn't detect any fans, so i can't change their settings
