Fan Boys, The Insanity !

So as we all know fan boys crawl out of the wood work over anything, From shaving foam to GPU's, There will always be the sad wa**ers known as fan boys.

The thing that gets me is console fan boys.

Digital Foundry recently did a PC/PS4/XB1 comparison on Diablo 3 and the console fan boys went wild and came out in droves.

Some of the comments had me questioning the sanity of these people.

1 was particularly amusing "The PS4 can do 4K and double the fps of any high end PC but Sony don't enable it due to marketing.

The scary thing is these people are serious, I will never understand people defending a company that doesn't even know you exist and these people defend them sometimes violently, Very very sad state of affairs.

If someone started bad mouthing a brand I like I would say nothing as that is his or hers own personal opinion/taste.

Anyone else seen this very troubling behavior ?

Edit: I' am not a fan boy but I do like Apple, and I do like Beats. But I can change. example, had an iPhone, amazing but have a Galaxy S5 now. Still love everything Apple does though.

I own an iPhone 5, latest gen iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle, Apple TV and had the iPhone 4. Also very close to getting a Macbook Air.

Nope, I really liked Razer but I would never defend them like a true fan boy would :)

I would argue that they are definitely a good brand and have a lot of flak for no reason other than people following the hate crowd but other than pointing out logic I wouldn't say I'm a fan boy of anything really.
 
Could not agree more but I usually take the moral high ground and never entertain the Fanbois, we can't educate them all.

As for shaving foam, Nivea Skin care range ;) beats Gillette every time. :lol:

Thats fair enough. I got flak for liking Beats, but thats what I like and there is nothing wrong with it. Yeah there is better, there is always better versions of everything, but I'm not Donald Trump.

I like Apple I just don't like their pricing structure but each to their own :)

I do want to dual boot the latest OSX when I have time :)

True indeed, I think the problem is humanity has become stale, Bring on WW3 ! That should give people something real to moan about for a change :p
 
i have a hard time when the console gamers say something like "consoles are better than pc" i simply cant turn the other cheek and then try to logically explain to them how they are wrong.
it never works though.

I have been called a intel fan boy too. just because i bought a fx-8120 decided it sucked replaced it with an i5-2500k and said it was much better.
I did bench tests, gaming tests. all as fair as possible. used a Q6600 at 3.7ghz as a base line.
and it really did come out as the 8120 at stock wasnt really an upgrade from the oc'd q6600. but an i5=2500k was a big improvment..

well then i was a intel fan boy.. and that annoys me. i bought the stupid thing because i wanted amd to work for me and perform like i needed it too.

so fan boys annoy me because they look at your facts and call you an elitist or fanboy for the other manufacturer.
if im a fan boy i am a very fickle fan boy as i will and have swapped between brands to suit my performance needs.

just soap and water for shaving btw.
 
If you genuinely know what your talking about it's not possible to be a fan boy. I have loyalty to Asus and Corsair but they all come out with some rubbish at times.

I don't have any loyalty to any hardware company, I do like Asus, Corsair, Samsung and Nvidia but if they screw something up I'll dump them in a heart beat and look for something better.

The problem is though these people don't know what they're talking about and blindly defend companies that couldn't give 2 shits about them and only see them as walking £$€ signs.
 
I get fanboyism in this thing of ours because for me at least, I do this for fun and these things are my toys and whenever you do something for fun, youre gonna get sentimental favorites. Kinda like sports. Youll have your favorite sports team and youll support them when theyre great and when they suck. Its the the same here. Ive been an AMD fanboy forever for sentimental reasons, Im partial to EVGA for GPU's Corsair for a lot of things and Logitech and even Razer for peripherals. As long as youre not blinded to reality like the aforementioned "PS4 can do 4K" bullshit, I dont see anything wrong with being a fan and loyal to certain brands. Its for fun and its no different than your favorite sports team or favorite brand of car or whatever.

Now if this isnt a hobby and youre doing this professionally then you cant really afford to be a fanboy. You have to get the best performance and value you can and cant really afford any loyalty.
 
Fanboys are the lowest level of humanity, luckily there aren't any on here, but in other places like YouTube and Facebook there are many. For example Asus posted a picture of one of their gold motherboards and I asked politely why they went with that colour scheme. The hate after that was crazy. How can people really defend that? I do remember that there used to be a Razer fanboy on this forum, but he seems to have left. :P As for the shaving cream thing, I don't really care. When my Gillette runs out I use soap and water. When my soap runs out I use water, but if my water runs out, now there's a problem. Anyways fanboys suck, OC3D for the win. :D
 
The shaving foam has to be the classic Taylors of Old Bond Street, but I like traditional shaving :p
