Thankfully this has nowt to do with Bethesda apart from using their engine. So I'm hopeful and quietly extremely excited.
I remember years ago I even said, before New Vegas, that I would love to see a game called fallout London. I had already dreamt of it.
TBH after DC you were always going to struggle to match or beat FO3. It was a big part of why FO4 was never going to be as good. Boston was fun, but not a patch on DC. I really don't know why they have left out NY tbh. It's not even a DLC. Man imagine clearing out the Empire State and residing there like Tenpenny tower? Hory crap.
I'll have a dig later to see if I can find my posts.
BTW I don't hate FONV. On the contrary I thought it was fantastic. However. It wasn't anywhere near as deep or detailed as FO3. None have been. What I mean is you could not enter a building and get lost for hours in it as it sucked you in. Most of the buildings in NV were either boarded up or tiny inside, with no major side quests or hidden quests. Time constraints for sure, but it is incredible what they pulled off in two years.
And it's the same with FO4. Mostly due to the engine constraints. Even huge inner buildings are linear mazes with most of them boarded up or blocked off. Meaning there isn't a whole load beneath the surface. Metros in comparison to FO3 are also pretty pathetic tbh, and a lot of that comes down to the engine and constraints of Boston.
And that's why London and NY IMO were vastly better places to host a Fallout game.
Edit. Had a quick poke. Sadly the forum search function here seems to have clacked it, and B-T forum will only search back to the last major forum change. That said, here is a post I made in a thread called "What game would you like to see the most?" from 2015.
You may call me Prophet
