Failing clock frequencies O/C

Ok got a leadtek 6800le, had no problems opening all pipes -what it wont do is allow me to increase clock frequencies - it fails no matter if I increase or decrease the frequencies.

I have seen this problem before and the solution just cant remember where and what it was.

Its not a lack of power as I have a brand new 680 PSU

Any help be great :)

bit more information please.....

how are you trying to overclock..

what do you mean by "fails"???

how far do you get before things go "wrong"

help us out mate with a tad more info and we will help you :D

Ok so it's failing the nVidia OC stability test w/ coolbits enabled.

This is what you should do, dl Riva Tuner and adjust your clock speeds with it, it will allow you to set your speeds without a pre-test. Then go and do some benchmarks to find your max stable oc.

It fails with that as well you cant not apply new settings with out testing them

see pics one is with very slight O/C, Other is heavily UNDERCLOCKED both fail --->http://img223.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cardoverclocked2mo.jpg

Might be worth downloading ATI tools as well to test your OC as you CAN go too far using Riva

why ATI tools for a nivida card? sorry I'm new at this so bit thick still

ATI tools stress the GPU and shows whether the card will be fairly stable at the speeds set on either ATI or nvidia cards

Cheers for that m8 did not know, but I cant overclock the card at all not even 1% nada zip. I know I saw this problem before and I saw the solution just can't think what or where it was.

OK added:

The way to sort this problem is to put card back to default (all pipes back to what they were when you bought card) then up clock frequencies then open pipes again :)

I had this problem with Rivatuner and my 6800 after unlocking. My solution was to disable Rivatuner's clockspeed testing, then it seemed to work fine (it's under power user settings)

And then later on, it just stopped bitching... so I was happy. :D
