F***in' Cd Cases.

:banghead:Why can't they do something about some of the CD/DVD cases?

I've gotta go buy a new Far Cry now, 'cos pullin' the disk in and out of the case has made a nice crack from the centre to about 3mm into the data layer, so the DVD won't work now:cussing:

Jesus, you must be brutal and heavy handed getting them out. I've never experienced that much difficulty in getting either a DVD or CD out of its jewel case, let alone cracking the media doing so.

*some1* (I kinda know who it was but they haven`t said anything) Cracked the center of my Disk1 of C&C Generals. Totally down to the case tbh.

In theory you shlould be able to phone up the distributer/developer and request a new disk. Afterall youve paid for the licence to use the software, not the bloody CD it comes on.

Hell you could even download a cracked version and in this intance it would be legal.

I had a GameCube disk that did that, but it had been taken out and put back in probably upwards of 600 times. Sega and Nintendo each pointed at eachother hope that won't happen in your case since this is a PC game.

Ya I reckon u`r probably right.

I looked at it in two ways, either I follow that route; probably end up on the phone to "Michelle" for a long while on something which more than likely isn`t toll free, proving things and so on; or use a "backup".

Hence I got a "backup" cd1 ;)

Technically this should be true, but my friend screwed up his WC3 Frozen Throne disk (opened drive with the paper clip method while comp was on, made it all gummy and crap) and when he requested another from Blizzard, they wanted $10 for it! Maybe that's just them though...

My other friend does what macgames said.

Crikey, can't remember when I bought it now, but I was still running the PIII/750 at the time, and I built the AMD rig in June 2005. God knows how many times it's been in and out of the case.

My nephew told me today, they've got second hand ones in Gamestation for £4:99, so I may as well get another disc.

I've seen guys in Game snap CDs when they've been struggling to take them out of the cases.

How can you be entitled to another copy of something that you have broke  , its not the manufactures fault he broke it so why should they replace it

Back on topic, I have came across to dvd cases which use stupid mechanisms to get the disks out.
