External psu mod/ ideas?

Oki Iv had this idea of using my old antec isk 300-150 and throwing in a Llano a8, low profile 6670 2 ssd and a slim blueray player main problem is the built in psu is only 150 watts and pretty rubbish.

So I had the idea of buying a 400watt moduler psu getting some one to make a custome enclosure for the psu and feeding the cables thru the back of the case.

Has any one done a similiar idea before, have I missed summit out....

I don't think you have missed something out as it is not something that is often done!

Are you hoping to make a normal psu into a slimline one? Or you just want a slightly smaller psu that has an enclosure that looks good on the outside? Because the last time I looked in a psu it didn't look as though there was much chance of making it that much slimmer to be honest.

You could just rip it open and have a look, then get a bit of sheet metal and bend it to create a new cover like the one you would have taken off. Shouldn't be too difficult I don't think

Iv got a spare 400 watt moduler psu based on a corsiar design a bit on the big side next I was lookiung at a ssf psu moduler design. Rite now its just ideas floating about, Its a pity the antec isk 300 is a very nice and sturdy case let down by a sh*tty psu
