AMD's Zen 4 CPUs almost featured an IHS with a vapor chamber.

Thing with this though... if you delid that IHS, you could recreate these vented holes. Any enthusiast will happily take a 1C additional drop.

I still miss the naked Ivy days but this kind of thinking was always fun. Lapping/Liquid metal/Direct Die etc.

One of them looks like its sheared itself apart though. Wonder what test that was put through.
