EVGA Officially Announces the EVGA Classified Motherboard

$450... whats that? £320 straight conversion... probs be more like what £350 uk end price? well with looks and specs like that i just may shed out and sell on my UD5... that mobo was designed to be in a windowed case with XFX ATI cards and a Black and Red WC... :p:p:p:p

The mobo looks a decent enough layout, despite the council-apartment-complex cooler right in the middle of it.

That aside, the cpu area looks nice and clear, the rest, really, is all down to how it performs in comparison to the rest of the competition.

For the recommended price, it should spank all those existing - but I can almost guarantee u it won't. It'll peak in some areas and either fall or average out in others.

Excessive pricing tbh.

I see nothing special there at all tbh. As Rasta said, it'd have to perform fookin amazing to justify that price - and I bet it wont

I spent most of my day there yesterday. We were all hoping for a release of the board instead of an official announcement that the board would be released soon. Right at 9 AM when EVGA opened for the day, their site crashed. The site was at best iffy most of the day and they finally were able to patch it up.

From what I could tell, there is no official relase date yet.

I have been waiting anxiously myself for the release of the MB so I can get restarted on my build.

What was sad that people were so upset about the fact that they could not buy the board yet, you would have thought that the world was ending!

Something I've noticed also is that there seems to be a pact by these mobo companies to stick with just a X58 mobo.

By this time, rumors, pics and specs of P55 cards should be out, having only 1 or 2 X mobo per manufacturer on the shelves.

Right now things feel different.

I think people who may get a £350 mobo, upgrading from their 'great' 775 mobo setup, and don't get a top-top gfxcard, need to check their sanity.

Correct!

But only needs to be used. The second is optional.

Would f'ing hope so too. Not seen a single PSU with dual EPS yet. What a crock'o'shyte.

I bought an 8 pin splitter and I'm going to give that a whril to see how it works with the PP&C Turbo-Cool 860 ESA that I have.

Jimbo getting all protective over your Blood Rage?? It's like someone who dresses and acts like you p1sses you off?

Woah, that is a seriously expensive motherboard, there's no way I'd spend an extra £100+ on a premium mobo when you consider how much performance you could get spending it on other parts with a sane priced mobo.

Just had a quick swatch at the BloodRage and can't understand it's appeal. Why are the pci-exp lanes so close together, other than graphics what else are you going to use them for ? Each card's cooler (sli/cf) would block another lane.

Here's a pic of the 16x PCI-E slots fully loaded.

3-way SLI + PhysX + 1x PCIe device (audio card in this case)

Nice for benching on a desk, not so good if you wanna run it inside a case. I think there's about 2 cases on the market that have 8 PCI blanking plates.

There's absolutely no point in having a dedicated PhysX card with that kind of setup. It will actually hinder results to increase them.
