I do have 2 spare hybrid turbos, well 1 spare as the ceramic rollerbearing one is on my Renault 5GTturbo but they're 300 miles away and might not fit

if it turns out it is the turbo then considering the price of the orig saab part you might want to look out for aftermarket turbos.

Seems after being on diagnostic there's a recall for a turbocharger fault so I could be in the clear here

Except as we all know we are not that lucky and I'm probably outside the recall timescale or something....anyway time to ring Saab and find out ...
