Eset Security suite or Eset Antivirus. Primarily for my uncle (wants good protection on his new laptop and family pc when they get it). I'm also interested - I already have one license for AV, dunno whether to get ESS or not. Also interested in buying for my laptop and downstairs pc (afaik u cant get away with more than one machine on one license :p)

linux should be an option, no AV needed :P

but on all my xp/vista machines i use AVG, or nod32, depending how important i consider the machine :P

Im using smart security at the moment and it seems like a solid all rounder. Miss the NOD32 GUI though :(

Well for my uncle (can afford quite a bit) he wants the best protection for both. His last pc literally got destroyed by viruses/spyware.

I like ESET, cept for 1 thing - it doesn`t like copying files over a network.

I thought perhaps it was 1 install on 1 pc that was screwing up, but 2 of them did.

U get delay-write failures and hangs.

Disable the firewall and all is well.

Hard to comment on the virus thingy, cos I haven`t seen a virus in years.

So maybe AV + Comodo might be a better option? Doesnt ESS have a pretty good anti spam/malware tho?

I too get some network connection issues (firewall = off during lans)

Didn`t notice Eset handling web based pop-ups/adds etc as well as a suite like ZA. ZA dislikes online gaming really tho.

It`s a tricky choice tbh, but I do like to use 1 suite for all.

ESS is very good for all and can be very fussy if you set it to be

Then again it can sit in the BG and block stuff without you bothering with it :)
