i ordered the following motherboard from scan,

Asus P5N32-SLi-SE Deluxe RoHS

Just got an email of them saying its end of life and i need to choose another.

Need the same sort of features and not cost more (above was £117ish), any know of a better choice as i cannot make my mind up.

its for a htpc.

what about Abit AB9 Pro i965?

Needs;

Sata2 raid

silent north/south bridge cooling (not a biggy as aftermarket coolers are out there)

c2d compatible

ddr2 dual channel (800)

Plays nice with vista

just not sure which chipset is best to go for, dont think i will be doing much overclocking. Just using it for media centre.

Bit angry with scan, as they have had my order for 2 weeks and the day before delivery i get a email saying its end of life, which means i prob wont be getting it tomorrow.
 
HTPC + ATX? Not going mATX?

The P5N was a poor choice to begin with if you didn't need SLI... Pick up just about anything with a P965 chipset and you'll be rollin'. AB9 is a great board, highly recommended.
 
wanted to stick with atx, Most cases i found for matx had room for about 1-2 hdd, i can fit 4 in the one i have.

scan have redeemed themself, i had a text of them yesterday to say it had been dispatched.

Usally they're pretty good. RMA it matey and buy one of the special boys at SpecialTech :D
