Electrical noise?

Hey All,

You would not believe the amount of bad luck I have had with PC hardware recently.. anyway so I just bought a new motherboard bundle from PC specialist, its a z490-f gaming mobo 10850k and 16 gb ram but I am having a couple of issues.. firstly when ever I restart my PC the ether port stops working and I have to go into device manager and disable then reenable it to get it working again. strangely after a shut down and boot up it is not affected.

Also I am getting a weird electrical noise in my headphones when plugged into 3.5mm jack on the back, front I/O not having the same issue. The noise gets worse depending on whats happening, so just moving my mouse makes it slightly worse and scrolling through web pages makes it even louder and when I i press the start button and have the start menu open it makes a buzzing sound?

I really don't want to have to RMA this so i'm hoping maybe some thing can be done.. I have updated bios and alll firmware and drivers and I even re-installed windows and I still get both issues.

Any help appreciated.

The headphone issue is simply down to a bad ground. However, given you have issues with the ethernet port I would say the board has issues. I would RMA the board in the very least.

You could get a 3.5mm Headphone Ground Loop Isolator off amazon or somewhere to deal with the buzzing issue.

I would have suggested that but if the problem has never existed in his residence before and the ethernet is dropping then it raises the alarm about the board having issues.
