The price of a block of acrylic isnt cheap by itself. EK are always overpriced, but these distroplates are more costly than you value them at. Plus you need to factor in the pump itself which alone is around 100euros these days.
I paid 4500kr for mine, which to compare is 393 Euro. Same one today for me now costs 462 Euro.
Throw in the RGB strip, and all the stopper plugs they provide you with and it adds up. Its not worth the price, that is for sure, but its still costly from materials and pump alone.
Yeah these are not cheap. Slabs of cast clear acrylic in this thickness are insane expensive.
Rainjintek make some, as did that other company out of China who seem to have vanished now. Can't quite remember their name. They are now gone, and they are all expensive.
Edit in. Bykski. Who seem to have vanished like a fart in the wind. They did make relatively affordable ones, but none left now.
Anything that requires any kind of tooling ends up costing a packet just the way it is at times cause unless it's a massive selling type of product they need to make there margins somewhere, is why a lot of case designs use the same exact panels often.
I think if I was to ever want a distro plate like this and had the money i'd go for something diffferent like the singularity computers type case with the distro plate being the motherboard mount, but omg i expect that is hella expensive
