I recently bought a DFI from ebuyer.co.uk which worked for about a week and then died, i tested it several times and i was 100% sure it was dead so i RMAd it, they got it and sent an email back saying 'we cannot carry out the RMA as you have not included the driver disc' followed by another email saying we have tested the board and are unable to replicate the fault so we are sending it back. Got around to testing it today ready to sell it and guess what, still dead. although now it is outside of ebuyers 28 day warrenty.....'this is their fault' i think to myself so i go to ring them and give them an earful... but wait, their customer service staff dont do saturdays. So now i have to wait more time till i get to shout at someone followed by either the chance that they screw me over for 50-60 pound or that i have to wait like 2 months for them to send it off to DFI in the netherlands ARGH!

hmmmm, last time i had an rma with ebuyer they were great, but i suppose you cant get lucky all the time :(

Yeah I've RMA'd a few stuff to them and seem ok about it. Sound like you've been very unlucky - enjoy venting it out on them on Monday :D

Make sure you say merry christmas in a sarcy way when you hang up ;)

ocuh thats gota hurt :(

btw what was the problem with it? didnt boot at all completely dead?

I had a very similar problem a few days ago with ebuyer mate.

My folks motherboard kept loosing the BIOS settings. So I RMA'd it to them, and 2 days later they sent it back without a note or any reason why they hadn't exchanged it.

So i chased them and found out it was because it was missing the CD. I sent it back again (this time with the CD) and rather than exchanging the board like I selected on their website, they gave me a refund.

A refund might sound like a good ending, but when you consider that the only reason they did this was because they didn't have a board of similar price to do an exchange, and I had to wait 3 days for the money to clear back into my account - its pretty crap.

my dad sells to them, they say they aim to have a turnover of over 5million by the end of the year. I'm hearing more and more stories about there RMA procedure etc. Personally i think it's going to start harming them if they dont get there act together.

i suppose its better for them to give u a refund than a board which may seem better or similar, but actually be missing a key feature to you. at least with a refund u can choose which board you would like.

To look at it from a regular retailers` pov, u`ve had a fair service there if we`re `being` fair.

However, any1 the likes of the frequent users of this forum - want the goods delivered within a day or so, and an rma done likewize, and to result a week+ l8r with no mobo and u`r cash back (probably less a few cents in postage) - we won`t be happy. It`s a week+ wasted from our pov.

In u`r shoes XMS, I`d feel similarly, but reflecting on it a few months l8r I`d understand.

Yeah but its the lack of communication thats the problem. All they needed to do was let me select a new board and we could have avoided the 3 day wait for the refund, followed by the 2 day ordering time for the new one (not that it turned up on Friday like i selected anyway).

Mentioning communication, I must confess they took a full 10 days to reply to a ticket on a lead they delivered wrong.

time lost due to lack of communication really really annoys me, if i was running a business i would go ape-sh*t at them for stuff like this, afterall time is money

Well ebuyer now have the board for the second time. Will give them a fair amount of time to process as its xmas...

I've had a couple of RMA's with Ebuyer, all have been refunds, so I guess you're the odd one out. These days, it's better to send something back to the manufacturer if you want a replacement, or send it back to the retailer if you want a refund.

sometimes ebuyer messes up or sends somthing broken but somtimes they send the order twice .. luck i suppose
