I got an email today stating that Ebay will be reducing the store presence on their auctions dramatically. So instead of seeing ebay auctions and then ebay shops its going to be basically just shops. Thats not bad i thought, untill I saw that they were putting the fees up and making them even more complicated.

Ebay theiving gits.....
Can anyone actually work out that if i sell something for £35 for example what I have to pay from their following formula...
10% of the initial £4.99 plus 8% of the initial £5.00 - £9.99 plus 6% of the remaining selling price balance
10% of the initial £4.99
.49p
8% of the initial £5.00 to 9.99
What the hell does that mean. 5.00 after the inital 4.99. Ok so if thats the case then its about
.79p
plus 6% of the remaining selling price balance
Selling price balance is 20.02
£1.20
So in total, just to list and sell stuff on ebay is 2.49
Now on TOP of all that there is the Paypal fees as well, these start at about 3%, so thats another £1.05
Total is now about 3.54 on a product that Ive sold for £35. Doesnt that seem just a tad excessive. Now note this is for shops only, ive not even started trying to work out what an auctions yet.
Anyone brave enough to attempt a spreadsheet where you enter your cost of the product and it comes up with the minimum figure you have to sell for to break even?
