EA's Command and Conquer Remasters will use Original Source Code

Fans of the series will be glad to know that EA has already confirmed that these remasters will not ship with any microtransactions of any kind, and that each game will ship with their respective expansions without any additional charges.

This must be a typo. replace not with lots and change without to "with massive" and then I would have said this had credibility.

To counter the financial losses of no micro transactions/ DLC's these will probably ship at £75 a go.

Despite all this negativity it would still be nice to think that EA might have got the idea that they need to reignite trust in their brand.... im doubtful they saw the signs over their wall of money though....

EA has never really put microtransactions on their gamer-orientated series like Battlefield because they know the backlash wouldn't be worth it, and they've always been quite good with their DLC on those ones, now often giving all DLC out for free in multiplayer games to avoid segmentation, it's just the stuff for "casuals" like Fifa & Sims & Star Wars or whatever where they pull the usual tricks of a big industry. I'd say they're no where near as bad as companies like Ubisoft, Bethesda, Valve, and so on for microtransactions & stuff.

EA management changed massively around 2013, I'd say they've been leading by a relatively strong example since then, especially when you consider moves other companies have made since in adopting EA's old bad habits as they got rid of them over the past half decade, Ubisoft in particular.

Worth noting they've been regularly giving away all the command and conquer games for free on their platform in that time period.

Ah yes, I really hope the people that already have all the C&C games on Origin get a very good discount. Or free like Skyrim (but it's EA, so yeah, that probably won't happen)

I would also love for EA to work on Need for Speed Underground 1 & 2 remake/remaster. :)

Ive said many times, while I would love a NFS remaster, I dont think the remake would have the same luxurious appeal as it had before.

It was borderline original concept. However now we have a saturation of NFS games and competition in the likes of Forza franchise. I really believe our expectations will be so high most will be disappointed.

For those of you in here who have more experience than me, I’ve only ever played ”Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour” (I believe it was called?) and I absolutely loved the game at the time. Can’t even remember how many hours I used up on that game.

Anyone here that maybe have played it and can say what the differences are between that and these Command & Conquer games?.

C&C from west wood, is the godfather of the genre. it broke the mould in so many ways that it ushered in countless imitations. Many of them also good.

I can guarantee you, we would not have esports like SC2 if C&C did not exist.
Dune I guess could be considered the original, but command and conquer took the world by storm.

It was my first pc game ever. And back then, the recorded cut scenes involving real people and not animations blew me away.

was gonna say, Dune II was the daddy of the RTS genre as we know it, but the refinements made in Red Alert was the reason everyone loved it.

The generals was loosely based on a modern day combat scenario. The command and conquer series was based on the future with 2 waring factions and an alien intervention and the red-alert series is a kind of fantasised version of historic wars AFIK. I played red alert (the first one) but did not enjoy it as much as tiberian sun or tiberian wars. If you really want to get into one I recommend either of those 2. EA were working on something that was supposed to be a successor to generals but pulled the plug.... shame generals was really good, especially zero hour.

I think Generals was where they began to run out of ideas. I didn't enjoy it as much.
I wasn't a fan of red alert either. My passions was with the GDC vs NOD a fictitious world that had a great story too.

Brother Kane was awesome!!!
