EA Teases Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remaster

Honestly I even liked the most recent NFS I picked up on sale. But not much single player content and multiplayer was already dead.

It also revealed that my memory OC wasn't stable :D I've had it for over a year without issues.

Yup. That or Underground 2.

Instead we get this crap. I don't know....

This !

I loved underground 2, 2015's NFS was so incredibly close to it, Now if we had a few more customisations, The ability to make a race gang and more social options it would be truly immense, Akin to Fast and Furious that kicked all this off ^_^

The funny part is that a few years ago (just before the 2015 one I really liked) I decided to go to the EA forum to start a thread asking about a new underground. Turns out thousands had exactly the same idea, and most of the posts in the need for speed area were asking for another underground.

So they release this.

But, that is EA all over. They know what is best, including what their customers want. I didn't even bother making an account.

I don't really like the police chases. The algorithms are sodding stupid. Sometimes you can waste hours of your time trying to escape only to get caught any way ffs. Really annoying.

We all want underground 2 remake, but I can almost guarantee that if it was done.. we would just look at it and say "meh". Its like our standard have raised so high now, that some games should remain old and nostalgic.

Yep totally agree with you here. Loved nfsu 2 to bits, played so much of it but i'd like it to stay there, nostalgic.

If you play NFSU II now it has aged incredibly well as an engine. The cars feel lovely and weighty, and the mechanics are still very good.

But you have to hack it just to enable wide screen.

And no, I wouldn't look at it and say "meh". I have played through it so many times I lost count.

True, Would be good if they made a sequel to NFS 2015, Just call it NFS2, Build on that game, More customisations, More social options, Even give the players the ability to customise an avatar, Go to car meets, Get out of the car and interact with people in a car lot you have all parked your cars in, Have a club house that you can drive in and roam around with friends, I think that would be immense.

GTA 5 but without the gta? xD

Don't know why social options, when a good long single player game with good story would be so much better imo

Pretty much yeah but with actual drivable cars, The driving in GTA5 I thought was horrid.

It's just a personal wish, I know it will never see the light of day.

Totally agree, cars didnt have any weight to them or even a unique feel per model, most of them are just bland and boring to drive with slight variations in turning, braking and accelleration but having to pay through the nose for the newest thing that was ever so slightly quicker... i yeah i could go on ranting about it, but lets just say, racing games in general and even gta games of old were more fun then any if not most modern racing games.

Simulation excluded ofcourse, thats a different animal entirely.

Ha, I think my first wheel came with Midtown Madness 2, among with Monstertruck Madness and NFS Porsche 2000. :D
If memory serves, GTA III shares plenty of code with midtown madness.

Aye I had a wheel back then too. MM and MM2 were amazing. So was Motocross Madness 1&2 as well. Then they went and got all Xbox and abandoned their PC games.

Shame, because they made some real belters back then.

I used to spend hours modding MM2. Getting a General Lee, doing a great big jump and hitting the horn haha. Was awesome.

Underground 2
But only if it's not a live service game. No DLC, no pre-order shenanigans, no microtransactions or deluxe and special editions. Just the game.

Anyway, since EA wants to do remakes, we need a remake of the first Mercenaries game. But we need it to stay true to the original as much as possible. Or at least, it's what I need.
