EA: "We're gamers, too, and we appreciate you making Origin your gaming home. As a special thanks, we're launching the Origin On the House games giveaway.

Grab full games, expansions and more at absolutely no cost. Just make sure to act fast because while each On the House special will last for awhile, they can appear and disappear at any time.

You'll be getting a full version of the real game for free--once you've claimed your game it's yours to keep.

Atm Dead Space is up for grabs.

EA doing something decent. You don't see that very often. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this, thanks for the heads up.

Wraith, I'll trade you Dead Space for Dead Space.

Will have to check through my email I think I still have 3 copies of dead space from the Newyear the last time they gave it away. Oh and a few copies of Left4dead too.

To be fair I have been good. I was paid recently and spending too much time online and I haven't spent any money. My bank gave me a £1,500 overdraft recently. Looking through Scan and having the temptation there but I resisted. Yay me.

But will happily accept free games when they pop up.

Dead Space has been free on there for a while, I am waiting to see what the next game is that they offer if they do offer another.

I prefer Origin to Steam so I am happy to use it but as I already own Dead Space from a Humble Bundle purchase, I cannot claim this but there are a few games I wouldn't mind getting for free from Origin.

I'm the opposite, I prefer Steam to Origin. Maybe because I used Steam for about 10 years and don't like 'change'

Steam has a lot more features, Origin is just games nothing else which is fine but with Steam you get so much more, Individual forums for each game, A market place for cards, Backgrounds etc...

Dedicated sections for DLC for each game, Deals nearly everyday, Custom themes for Steam itself, customizable profile, Nifty little things like steam levels, Badges etc...

EA's customer support that is based in India and tells you to restart your modem and install internet explorer and then hangs up on you WTF ?!?!?!?

Steam groups, So it's easy to schedule gaming nights with friends.

Origin, Come to think of it is really very far behind when compared to Steams feature set.

Origin just needs to die. It's not as bad as Uplay imo as they don't focus on the social BS as much but still.

For me I prefer Origin because it doesn't loose connection every 5 minutes, doesn't have issues connecting the first time you launch it, doesn't loose connection when you don't have it running and launch a game that requires it to connect.

If Crysis 3 and Mass Effect 3 were available on Steam I would abandon Origin in a heart beat.

I bought BC2 a second time on Steam to be able to abandon Origin.
I got a couple more games on there but the only one i actually cared about was BC2. The rest can rot in hell.

I'm a great fan of SimCity, I wish they would expand the map size but apparently they tried and caused performance issues so they left it. I'm sad but I love SimCity.

That is what has stopped me from playing it, because I hate being limited to the poxy plots that you get.

Even in Sandboxed mode you still cannot expand out of the plots.

Yeah you can't build a huge metropolis with the current plots. I have a little mod that lets you plant buildings outside their plot which I used to place power plants, sewage and trash outside the plot zone.

in the 10 years I've been using steam I think I've encountered connectivity issues with it twice...

What? Have you been on vacation on every sale?
Steam also quite often goes offline for 10-15m for maintenance.

I kinda have to agree, I've had a few connection problems with Steam. Either logging in or when trying to purchase something and you get a page error.

But it will never discourage me from using Steam as I have been with them for 10 years just like SuB.
