With this being EA I'm surprised it even lasted this long.

If they REALLY want to give their users a better experience then they should board the 'Steam' train alongside everyone else

so many great games

???? The only AAA games I remember are Dead Space 1 and Burnout Paradise! Oh and Dragon Age Awakening iirc. Other than that there were only REALLY old games and popcap stuff...

Yup, the method definitely worked. I got something free (Mirror's Edge IIRC?) and I bought a couple of EA games after.

Damn, if Mirror's Edge was in there I think I missed it :/ I also remember Need For Speed Most Wanted being free some time ago. Sadly this was the newer version

Nope seems it wasn't Mirror's Edge. That must have been in the Humble Bundle at some point as it's not showing in Origin.

I think the idea behind it was to entice more people to use their service. They were hoping that gamers will eventually spend money on Origin if they had some games there. Apparently that didn't happen so they're killing the program.

Best thing I gained from Origin were

Theme Hospital
Syndicate Wars

And now that there is a new sim coming called 2point hospital, I have no reason to ever install it again.
