When Dx11 comes out, will games support both Dx10 & 11 or because the new Dx11 cards are coming out mid and end of 2009, will Dx10 will be gone? I hope not I want a Dx10 card this year :/ Long live Dx10 as it didn't last very long (well I predict).. :P

AFAIK DX10 cards will be able to run DX11.

Somewhat. DX10 cards are capable of running some of the improvements in DX11, but not all. Features like Shader Model 5 will require new hardware.

DX10 is far from being obsolete anyways. DX10 has been out since Jan '07, yet all games are still backwards compatible with DX9.

Shader Model 5 will be something like the recommended for a game.

I still think DirectX 10 will go for at least a year as people having been dishing out a lot of money on cards just for the features.

Well, DX11 will be released alongside Windows 7, which is expected to be released in Q3 this year. So we should probably start seeing DX11 games in Q4 if not Q1 2010.

I never said you won't see DX11 games.

But like how DX9 is still here after the release of DX10, it will be the same with DX11.

As said earlier.. DX10 has been with us for years and has yet to be used properly.

DX10 is a waste of time. Hopefully DX11 will become much more common than DX10 has been.

CoD4's strength is the fact it isn't extremely heavy on the system resources. Using DX10 would completely undo that.

DX10 is a waste of time imo, I really hope 11 is going to be better.

I remember reading they have drawn from the mistakes of DX10 and made DX11 faster and less resource hungry. So basically what DX10 should have been originally. :p

It seems a lot of peeps agree, but DX10 is one of the biggest fails in the last few years.

It seems to be the main marketing ploy to get people to move to ME2... Vista. :)
