DVI ex-tension

I want to run a DVI cable for around 5m, and don`t want to pay almost £40/50 for a cable. Coz well that`s a rip basically.

I`ve got 50million DVI 2m cables and would like a DVI-male to male gender type thing (can`t find one)

Or.. I`m toying with the theory of DVI->VGA->DVI, although I`m pretty sure that`s going to drop the digital to analogue and stay analogue.

Any worthy sources or suggestions would be appreciated

If I stay under £20 I`ll be a happy bunny.

Got a sack full of those DVI->VGA thingies, I might be forced to use one as a temp thing, until I can tap an engineer for one or something.

U can openly buy the sorta thing I`m after in the VGA gender changer variety for pence, but I`ve not seen a DVI variety yet.
