DVD To AVI

I was wondering, is there a single program, that is free, that with ease, you can make a dvd into one, or several AVI files? I have a lot of DVD's, and it is rather anoying having to change the disk every now and then, when a dvd finishes.

I wouldnt do anything illigal with it, i just want to be able to watch my DVD's as AVI files on my pc...if posible, make then 800x600 quality, or even 1024x760 if posible, space isnt too much of a problem, plenty of hard drive space left.

anyone got any sugestions/ideas?

Yes, there are quite a few great DVD backup programs out there. I haven't made a backup of a DVD in quite some time, and there are probably even better backup programs available now. Back in the day I used Super DVD Ripper which had the ability to rip to DIVX AVI's, worked flawlessly. Check it out.

One of the most popular is I believe DVDshrink, give it a shot...

dvdshrink doesnt backup to avi, it just resizes the dvd files

Ya dvdshrink is nice, and no it`s not an avi converter.

But, if u have the space, I`d use it and keep the better quality of the dvd along with features etc.
