DVD drive won't open

I recently installed a new CPU fan, so I went to go and play Oblivion but my DVD drive doesn't open anymore... And its not reconised in Windows. I've tried system restore and opening my case and checking if everything is secure.. Which it seems to be all in order.. But still it doesn't open.

Turn off, disconnect DVD drive altogether. Boot into BIOS, check main BIOS page (one that shows HDD's etc). Save and exit. Shut down.

Connect DVD drive again, boot into same BIOS screen again. Save and reboot.

See if that works

What shall I be looking for in the BIOS?

see if your hard drives are listed?

When turning your pc on are there any lights or sounds coming from the dvd drive, if not i dont think it has any power going to it.

K, I did what you said Kempz.. I disconnected the DVD drive from the MB.. Then reconnected it and it showed.. So I think your right nathan and I think i've knocked the power connector out..

EDIT: Sorted. Power cable was out.
