DRM kicking in on far cry 2?

A friend of me tried to reinstall Far Cry 2 on his pc today, and got the following error:
Too many activations on different PCs have been performed with the entered SERIAL. No further activations are allowed.

He claims he's installed on three computers and deinstalled on all three of them because it didn't work (my guess is that the rigs were too light to handle the game). Is it possible to somehow get around this in a legal way or is he just screwed?

Email the company, they will do something for you.

Well you could try e-mailing them but my friend had the EXACT same problem as you and he tried e-mailing them and they said that he will need to buy another cod. But yeah, try it.

Hmm Hmmm *slaps the darn DRM thing*

Friend says he doesn't need to play online anyway, so cracked it. Producer's own fault, should've used a fair system instead of this.
