Reminds me of a story i heard on the radio today. My government is shouting all around that workers in public sector could expect 10% salary increase in 2019. Nowhere is stated that it is actually salary return because they silently lowered salaries few years back by 20%.
10% down after 100+% increase is nothing to write home about. But we could at least be happy that isn't another price increase.
Exactly my point. I am still rocking 4790K with 16GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz. I had strong desire to upgrade to 8700K. It would give me a noticeable bump in performance for photo, and audio editing, but insane memory prices, and 8700K going out of stock and skyrocketing in price whenever it was available just wasn't worth price/performance upgrade.
I went from an i5 3500k to Skylake, which is ddr3 to ddr4. So I already had my memory before the price inflation. Now on a 8700k and don't see the need to change anytime soon even though I'd like to get Ryzen 2 but just not worth a side grade.
