With E-sports becoming more and more mainstream, the popularity of MOBA-games is on an all-time high. Games like League of Legends and Dota 2 are among the most played PC-games, and developers and publishers aren't afraid to take advantage of that hype. Huge tournaments with amazing prize pools aren't exactly rare these days. Valve's The International, the official Dota 2 Championships, featured a $5 million prize pool last year. In comparison, last year's League of Legends world championship featured a prize pool of 'only' $2.13 million. If you want to participate in such a tournament, you may now start training because Valve has just announced the Tournament Dates for The International 2015.
The tournament will be held from Monday, August 3rd through Saturday, August 6th. Team invitations will be sent out shortly after May 1st. The dates were announced on the official Dota 2 blog.
The event will be six days long, as opposed to last year's four days. The Tournament will feature 16 teams, just like last year. Nothing has been said about this year's prize pool, venue or ticket availability, but you can expect more information when the team invitations have been sent out. Do you like playing MOBA-games?
