lowered voltage too low can't get past gigabyte logo or into bios so now I assume I have to jump reset the board

You saved BIOS setting yea?

anyway,
Disconnect the mains power to your PSU and take a screw driver to the BIOS reset pins. These are two pins near the front panel power connectors on the motherboard hold the driver on these for 5secs.

reconnect the power and boot.

Into BIOS, load the BIOS setting you saved and up the voltage to the cpu. 1.075 is the normal volts at stock but you should be able to get it as low as 1.000v using stock clocks.

right thanks all back in at stock and all good but lowered it to 1.000v @4ghz and thats when it froze so will put it up to 1.100v @4ghz as it seemed stable then with temps at high 50s

1.000v as stock will be fine, but yea @ 4ghz mine locks me out too.

1.1v @4ghz is pretty good, I use IntelBurnTest for my OCs and 4.2 ghz gets me 75-77c with 1.2v but IBT stresses harder than prime apparently. I should take the time to lower the volts, but anything under 80 is fine.
