Difference between I7 3770 and 3770S

whats the difference between the new ivy bridge cpus I7 3770 and I7 3770S,Intel announces that it will run from 3,4 to 3,9 with turbo boost and the second from 3,1 to 3,9 with less tdp, so does the S model would be slower than the first one generally or with the turbo boost they will take finally the same results?

i m looking for a fast cpu but i don't care about oc.

I guess it depends what kind of workload it shall have. In a highly thread dependant workload, where TurboBoost wouldn't come into play, the plain jane 3770 shall outperform the 3770S. It seems that, however, if TurboBoost is put into motion, the two chips would work at the same speed.

When doing anything CPU intensive. E.g. gaming, F@H, rendering, etc.

i think it kicks up when the cpu gets to around 80% load at 1.6ghz but thats only from noticing it happen and no testing.

the s is the low power version so it will run cooler and use less power when idle but i cant see it being any different under full load tbh unless all the s chips are silly low vid which might make them better overclockers too.
