I am going sub zero so I want a mobo without caps round the socket. I was thinking about these two.

DFI - I want to get the R600 when released and the DFI seems to be decent... Its pricey though.

Asus - is giving monster RAM clocks (my dominator needs to be used to max speed) and is 965 - good clocker. Asus is also cheaper.

DFI. Stupidly good mobos and the ammount of settings has even got kemp tweeking experimentaly.

DFI most definately. The tweakability of the board puts it on the top for me. It's a tad bit slower than p965 but after a few BIOS revisions and once people learn the full potential of the tweakable settings I think we will see a truely monsterous board.

DFI FTW.

DFI for sure

Scared the cr@p outta me at first even though I'm used to hardcore DFI boards. The sheer amount to tweak is insane though, a great board

The Commando has a different BIOS than the regular P5B Deluxe series and allows even more tweakability than before. Pair that with a company who updates BIOS' very quickly and well, and you've got yourself one hell of a board.

Oh yea, and 965 is faster than RD600 (;))

I like DFI, I've had 2 good experiences with them but they're slow to release new BIOS' (I had the same BIOS for the 4 months I had my Infinity, no beta's either) and the chance of them dropping their motherboard segment after RD600 is high.

Now I gotta defend the RD600 too, because it has potential like Frag says. Well first off it fully supports Crossfire, as does the 965 board BUT the 965 boards are locked 16x, 4x, so the bottom card really suffers. The RD600 is either 8x 8x or 16x 16x.

The RD600 also has like Frag had mentioned, a lot of tweaking options. While I doubt the board will become much faster, room for improvement is there.

Last but not least, the Lanparty is sexy. Period. Nobody can deny the sexiness of DFI's LP boards.

Theres my $0.02, do what you want with it.

Ty guys. Just remembered a negative for the ASUS (a major one) while staring at my own rig.

TERRIBLE vDROOP.

Here's one for the Commando.

Got mine installed today and already I'm loving it. Vcore is more stable than on the P5B, its already getting slightly higher clocks on less voltage and best of all it bloody works sweet out of the box.

As Nick said, its got more tweaking options than the P5B, especially where voltage and memory are concerned. It's gonna take something really special to budge me off of 965 for the time being.

Ye. Thus far I'm loving my P5B DX. Got it @ 500x7 1:1 1.4v bios formatting windows right out of the box. :)

Don't wanna put out your fire.... 530x7 1:1 1.45v and rising :D

I did try for 600x6, but no-go as yet :(

Ye. This f***ing thing and it's 1x PCI-E bull. Pardon my french but it's complete s*** for ASUS not to have fixed this yet. I have to perform some goddamn voodoo every time I restart/power on.

I thought I had my mind made up... Until I read this.

I am about to invest in a new mobo (prob rd600) and was looking to go with the r600 with the option to get CF in the future on the basis the r600 was owning the g80...

Now I don't know if I should get an SLi flavour mobo and get the new improved nvidia...

I want a decent mobo that I can pelt with that is compatible with either CF/SLi - but deciding between cf/sli is a case of which is best, at this point in time its impossible to tell. Why don't mobos support both? Grrr

I can't keep my max as i have sold it...

I have less than a week to get this sorted!

I heard that a while ago. But honestly 2 8800GTXs overload any CPU AMD has and there are no games yet and Vista has no service pack yet AND you need a 30" monitor to use them and bla bla bla..

You realize in a year there is going to be stuff even more advanced..

Get something that you will be happy with RIGHT NOW...:)

Yeah... I am rockin a 24" monitor and I want all the eye candy on full... Sod it. DFI is getting ordered.

Hope the r600 is the nuts!

I must say that I absolutely love my new G80 even though it freezes my comp after about 10 mins of playing because my little BFG PSU isn't up to the task.

/me needs new psu asap.
