DFI NF4 SLI-DR Kicks A$$!!!

Hi Guyz,

Got some new toys on tuesday.

2 x 6800 GT's & a DFI NF4 SLI-DR.....

After testing using the 1/25 bios that came with the board, all I can say is wow.... This board is alot more stable than any board I have used before...

The Vcore doesn't move at all, I have never seen a board this stable before...

My 2 x 512 BH-5 are running 100% stable at 255Mhz @ 2-2-2-6 with only 3.43V, my Neo2 took 3.65V to accomplish this & would sometimes go crazy. I am very happy with this...

My FX55 is now 100% stable at 3.31Ghz with no extra voltagecompared to Neo2, haven't tried more yet...

Initial benching results!!!

All benches done with FX55 @ 3315 (255 x 13 1.824V), 2 x 6800GT @ 410 / 1170 in SLI Mode & 71.25 Detonators...

Doom 3 Timedemo - 169FPS

Aquamark 3 - 108163K

3DMark 03 - 22043

3DMark 05 - 10772
 
Sounds good mate. Does Cas1.5 give you any more performance than Cas2? I've heard it sometimes performs worse.
 
Great, I'm hearing mixed things about these DFIs but its more good than bad, with a few people having problems, but I just put my order in at O-Cuk anyway! Be fiddling soon, just need a cheap PCI card until I can afford the PCIe X850 next month.

EDIT: 2 Hours after placing the order and its on its way! Need to scoure eBay quickly now!
 
Nice set-up.

This is what I have learned about mine.

Upgrade to the BETA BIOS on DFI site. Make sure you have 1T timings and Nforce4 6.39 drivers - I would expect better 3d scores from what you currently have.

Put RAM in orange slots.

My Rig:

3500 winchester @ 275x11 1.68v HTTx3

2x512MB Gskill LC 1:1 1T 2.5-3-3-7 (got some LE to stick in there)

2xXFX6800GT Watercooled 432/1150

Raptor 74GB SATA

Audigy2 ZS

3dm2110SE = 32600ish (top 100 scores on page 5)

3dm05 = 10855 (can see my score on first page HOF maverik-sg1)

3dm03 = 23598 (can see my score on first page HOF maverik-sg1)

AQM3 = 99056 (no46)

all on 71.25whql drivers, nforce4 6.39 drivers

Superpi = 28s 1m 25m18s 32m

The system will rock, let me know what settings you are using to get 3.3GHZ on the FX55, my mate scorchio is stuck on 3.2 any help you can provide would be great for him.

Thanks for the info Mav. My board should be here monday with a nice Winchester sometime next week aswell from Winston. :D Are the Orange slots 2 and 4 because it says on Anandtech's review that DFI say those slots give the best overclockability.

Can't wait to get my LE in there and see how it goes.

Yep 2and 4.

I got my LE to stick in there over the weekend, but seems how I just managed to push my LC to LE speeds (275 @ 2.5-3-3-7) I am not sure how much I will gain from this purchase :confused:

My CPU prefers sub 280 FSB, so if anything I will just lower the volts to ge the same clock - can only be a good thing I guess.

You can get better 3d scores if you upgrade to 71.81whql drivers with the new 6.39 chipset drivers - the trade off is that video playback sux. I may end up waiting for the next official release before I hit that road again as I enjoy watching the odd divx file on my PC.
 
Did some testing last night @ 415 / 1150 with 71.25 Drivers & scored 38889 in 3D01, which I thought was nice!!!

Will post some scores later!
 
You using air or water on your cards?

Also does 3DM01 pick up and take advantage of the 2 cards? Scores aren't that great for 2 cards from what I've seen and some say it makes no difference.
 
Just took no 1 in 6800 Series GPU Class, just 14 PTS from 40K!!!! Find link below....

2 cards make a small difference in most tests but nature it stomps the competition<img>!!!
 
Nice scores puts you up near the top of the list in hall of fame.

What settings/drivers are you using?

Are you using rivatuner? What settings are you using?

I agree, scores on other test are not that different to just one card, but nature I peak at 570fps, I guess you must be closer to 600fps. Droagthic I peak at about 585fps, I guess you reach 700+

Interesting to know what settings (BIOS/Nvidia Driver/RivaTuner) you change though to get those scores and with which drivers.

Like I said my mate scorchio has same set-up as you, but scores just over 34k in 3dm01se, any help you can provide to how you set-up your system could benefit all of us at EP-UK.

Are you posting Aquamark3 scores under the alias no name? If so can you delete all but your highest score.

Post the details here.

Setting I am using are:- rivatuner to turn off fast writes & SideBand Addressing....

The best drivers I have found for 01 are ForceWare 75.90

Everything turned off in Nvidia control panel & texture quality set to preformance (obviously)

Memory settings are very tight

Used XPLite & totally gutted xp

Removed all startup programs

Edited card bios because the card was throttling at 415 Core & memory would go past 1.1Ghz in control panel

Nice, very nice. You are a benchmarking GOD - be giving DAZBOOTS a run for his money too. What are your 32m superpi results?

How did you manage to edit the BIOS?

Did you keep the cards in SLI Mode? Or did you have to change back to single mode (which is really awkward on these DFI boards) and update each BIOS?

What editing tools did you use? How did you disable the throttle?

Lots of questions I know but changing th BIOS on the Cards is something I definitly would like to try and do.

Bios editing is really easy, you just need the right tools.....

MVKTech.net is a good place to start....

All you need is a dos boot disk a copy of nvflash 5.13 & NiBiT 2.0

NiBiT is the editing tool, just set you clocks & GPU voltage, save the file reboot & flash with nvflash...

The cards throttle when you go past the safety limit of the card (I don't know if its the bios or something in the drivers that determine this!), when you go past this limit the cards clocks get pulled back to bios default.... Editing the bios to higher clocks stops this...
 
Thanks for the information for the BIOS stuff.

Does it MOD both BIOS at the same time?

Or do I have to remove one card, set to single VGA, edit one card then swap cards and edit the other?
 
Forgot to say backup your old bios first & keep it safe...

when you flash it searches the bus for nvidia pci card & flashes one at a time without having to remove them....

No 9 by my reckoning, thats in the "All Drivers" because i'm using ForceWare 75.90 drivers... not FM approved....

I'm using Vertex Shader Version 2.0a & Pixel Shader Version 2.0a, same as ati cards.... Is it cheating, I can't find anything about it in they're rules!
