DFI NF4 SLI-D Official EPUK thread

Ok I want everyone here with the DFI NF4 board to post their results in this thread. A lot of interest has been generated lately with the release of this new mobo, and perhaps we can use this as a type of bug hunting thread and keep it updated. Its a fantastic board but it isnt without problems. I had a major problem with the initial bios in the fact that I couldnt select anything other than 2.6v on the DIMM which in turn led to sporadic crashes. I had to flash the bios to the latest beta to stabilise.

My spec:

DFI NF4 SLI-D

1GB 3700EB

XTPE 850

3800+

PCP&C 510 SLI psu

Windows XP Pro SP2 with latest NF4 drivers and 5.2 catalysts.

All @ stock, with stock heatsink.

Initial tests:

3dmark01SE : 26015

3dmark03 (latest patch): 13000

FX53

DFI SLI-DR

1Gb OCZ VX

2* XFX 6800GT @ 390/1180

PCP&C 510 SLI

3D 01 - 25830

3D 03 - 20417

3D 05 - 9273

Having a little probs with stability. Most of it seems driver based atm

My Revision A1 Sux Donkey's.. i hate it...

It never cold boots and hates my GSkill...

2001 is 31K stock

although not the SLI board there 99% the same in build (afaik) so i assume my opinion still counts?

only managed to air cool so far and this chip did 2.52ghz but i have a mach2 sitting......waiting......i need a new cpu, not sure wether to risk another winnie but i cant find any newcastle cores anywhere :( (my cpu doesnt seem to like the cold, just doesnt detect a cpu and wont boot when mach2s on)

details in sig

I have a newcastle which can do 2.8gig @ 1.8v with pahse change. It has done 3.0gig but not stable. Think it was down to the psu. Have a nice PCP&C 510 sli psu now but the mach is off for repairs so dont know if it has made a difference yet.

If the price is right I may let it go

FX55 292 x 11

DFI NF4 Ultra-D

2 x 512 4400 GSkill LE 7,3,4,2.5 2.8V 292fsb

X850 XT PE

P+P 510 psu

03 14007 card at stock still playing

01 33K someat card at 560/590

12v is 11.86 solid as a rock.

Yeah mine's somewhere round that. 11.83, occasionally drops to 11.78 for a split second. The bios reports 12.02 idle though so gonne get a multimeter to see what its really like.

Just trying to find the source of my instability at the moment. about 3 times a day it will just lock up. Everything at stock. Says the 6800 driver is the problem. Tried reinstalling but it hasnt helped. Think i'm gonna format and redo windows as it passed at 5 hour 3d loop and an hour of memtest. Never crashes in games or tests just browsing the net or something. Very odd indeed. Might try the new bios's too.

I was playing with my system yesterday etc and ran memtes for 8 1/2 hours ended up with 2 errors in test 8 loool oh that was at 292 x 11 so I upped the volts on my cpu a little and the fsb to 295 going to see what the outcome will be

I found similar problems with the original bios on this board - it would cause a random restart - It turned out I couldnt select more than 2.6v for the memory and my OCZ wanted at least 2.8 before it was happy at 200fsb. I would defintely upgrade the bios for starters, then try reformating as a last resort.

Yeah, am already on the latest bios, well before the new ones today came out. Will try a couple more settings before a format is needed. Its 100% 3d and memtest stable and i've been playing total war all this afternoon so its gotta be some software prob somewhere I think.

My Set-up:

DFI Lanparty Sli-DR (BETA 0102 BIOS)

Winchester 3500 (Mach2 cooled to 277x11 rock solid stable)

Gskill LE 2.5-3-3-6 3.1v

2x6800GT Innovatek blocks with modded Aquarius 3 water cooled 450/1190

Rator SATA 74GB in SATA Mode

2x 200GB SATA Drives

Optorite 16x DVD

OCZ Powerstream 520w

ANTEC P160 Case

HTT/LDT 3x

All memory controller and chipset volts at highest settings

CPU Voltage set at 1.4 x 123% (this seems to be more stable than setting volts the other way)

3dm2001se 33372

3dm03 24500+

3dm05 11411

All using 7590 drivers

32m Superpi 24m46s

1m superpi 28s

CustomPC Benchmark - 1.77 maverik007 (faster than FX53's on the leaderboard!!)

My mate Scorchio has the same set-up but with FX55 and Prommie2 running 265x12 - should be able to get more but think it's a BIOS issue at present.

The release BIOS SUX big-time, I needed to flash to BETA using DDR266 RAM so that I could use my Gskill.

Can't tell you the revision of the board as I cant get to see the revison, CPUID report MOBO is A03 though, but unable to physically check.

All in all I am mightily impressed with this set-up, volts are rock solid stable I believe I have one of the fastest Winchester set-ups around. :D
