Directly from Oskar Wu himself. Production is expected to start in a few weeks once chipset cooling is finalised.

Thanks to Oskar and Victor for the pics and info.

Comment:

Its performance per FSB will probably be the best, but stories persist regarding coil squealing on recent DFI boards (a la 7800, 7900, 880 3D load noise) Cant comment on prices, but we all know DFI LP boards aint cheap.

Everything about that looks so right - digital PWM control, lots of space around the socket, SATA2 headers in the right place, 3x PCI-E full size slots

I really hope that they steer away from complicated heatpipe coolers as that looks really smart.

In fact a true enthusiast board should eb supplied like that - assuming of course that there are suitable 3rd party non reference chipset coolers around that are compatable.

Awesome - welcome back DFI.

Great find Kenny - thanks for sharing

Great looking M/B with all the features that is needed for the over-clocker, the only problem i can see is that it only supports DDR2,(or could it be a simple BIOS flash to update it to DDR3) if this is the case then it is a great M/B but if it does not support DDR3 then its a bit on the late side as we will soon have DDR3 to use.

Seeing DDR3 now - I can say with a degree of confidence that it will be over a year before we need to worry about it being better than DDR2 which will still continue to be developed while AMD are running with that product.

Also - from experience, to purchase the 1st GEN of new kit, normally means that you are the first to be waiting for a number of BIOS fixes, driver updates, volt mods and RMA's.

I don't disagree with what you said though mate - DFI is late coming into this, but we all know that the wait for their stuff is usually worth it - and it will last over a year, which is nice.

That board itself will never support DDR3- the leaf-out is different. Even a lot of X38 (replacement for 975X) boards will support DDR2 to start with. There might be another revision of the DFI P35 board for DDR3...there might not.

At least DFI seem more or less on the ball with P35. Looking much better than their 680I board for ballpark release dates :)

Theres an optional extra section that bolts onto the SB block. Completely un-necessary and blocks some of the PCI/PCI-E slots.

Other than that...what a beautiful board!

Not 100% sure, no. :( DFI were waiting on the heatsinks getting done..and they're (over)done... so it should be soon

Damn thats one sexy looking board ;)

i hear its going to cost around £150+ and with the X38 boards coming out soon will ppl still buy this board?

even if ive just bought a new p35 board ill certainly get one of these if and when they appear, what ever happended to their 680i board tho?

Mine is looking ever more likely that im not going to get it this week. :(

Was held up by the canadain post for like 4 days and there is a possiblity that they may have been damaged as the boxes where pretty battered ive been told, so they are being tested to see if they are ok.

Looks like monday or tuesday now, and thats when im going to be in uni so its going to be annoying having to come home to get the board as I dont know my address in uni yet so im stuck with this bloody EVGA 680i board which is causing me all sorts of problems so I think it needs RMAing and the delay of my DFI is delyaing me from RMAing it. :(
