I see no issue with Steam's reaction to this. Furthermore, the developer has got some nice publicity out f this so will probably sell a few copies off the back off this if it's available from him direct somewhere

Yeah, this guy is a fool. he got a bloody add on the FP of steam. Even if it said early access when it shouldn't have it was no reason to say all that. Being on the FP of steam must generate so much money for an indie, now he isn't even on steam.

He got what he deserved. Without steam how well will he sell his game?

He has left the studio, sold all his shares in the company to his co-founder and lost all rights to make money off the sales of the game. He hopes this will allow the game to go back on Steam so that the company and employees can make some money.

The one shame here is that the work of not just him but all 5 of the developers that made the game have been taken off steam. I feel sorry for the others who worked on the game who will lose money because of this guys stupidity.
